VIIth edition Olla Júnior

COURSE:
A race of 12,5 kms may seem short for the most seasoned runners, but it will require the same amount of effort as longer races. L’Olla Júnior climbs to Puigmal, at 2913 metres, following the same course as the Olla race, to end with a steep descent from Pic del Segre, 2809m, passing Coll de Finestrelles. The elevation gain is very high considering the relatively short distance of the race. We also need to take into account that the race is held in high altitude, therefore it is a demanding race and a tough test for the power and speed typical from this young age.

L’Olla Júnior has, in overall, the same technical difficulty, the same top elevation and more proportional elevation gain than the Olla clàssica. However it avoids the excessive repetition and the excessive work on the body joints and tissues that could affect younger sportsmen and sportswomen if they had to run the complete Olla race.

From the organitzation of l’Olla we have always tried to promote this specific race with the aim of making it an international reference race for young talents.

Taste the new Olla Júnior, enjoy it and become pioneers of this new challenge. Congratualtions!
